There are more details on our website but basically you can refer to any piece (writing/art/individual page etc) on our site and/or individual words within a piece.
We periodically open for new featured material that does not have to relate directly to anything on our site. Those dates are announced on our guidelines page and will be indicated here but a Featured submission link.
Shorter pieces are preferred but no length restrictions. Due to formatting for online reading we prefer poems and prose without significant indentations and special fonts etc.
Submit up to 3 poems in one document or 1 prose piece per packet. Up to 5 art pieces per packet.
If you have submitted or been published in Referential please wait 30 days between each new submission.
If you submitted please wait at least 60 days before inquiring about the status of your submission. Note we usually respond MUCH quicker than that, but give us some time!
